In Feldenkrais® Awareness Through Movement® lessons, you use your attention to learn something about how you move. As you practice, you build self-awareness, recognize your habits, and find new and more expansive ways of moving.
The benefits include pain relief, greater range of motion, and an increased pleasure in the movements of daily life, including walking, bending, reaching, dancing, and more.
And because how you move affects how you see the world, you may also find you can think more clearly, solve problems more readily, and ride the waves of emotions more easily.

As toddlers we learned to walk through a process of trial and error that was chaotic and haphazard. While it worked, we developed habits of movement that aren’t very elegant or efficient—and might even be causing us pain us as adults.
Luckily, It’s never too late to re-learn this essential skill. This weekend we explore how to walk with greater comfort, power, and ease with the Feldenkrais Method, a way of learning that uses movement to enhance self-awareness, improve function, and relieve pain.

Join me from the comfort of your own living room as I fill in for Feldenkrais teacher Buffy Owens for this 4-week series in June. You can purchase the whole series or drop in as you can.
We’ll be exploring movements of reaching and rolling, activities we do many times a day. By the end of the series, you’ll have a greater sense of freedom through whole torso and improved mobility in your shoulders.

Spend some time practicing gentle movements that will help you have a greater sense of freedom through the whole torso and improved mobility in your shoulders. After this workshop, you may find it easier to do things like garden, lift your child or grandchild, or roll over and reach for your phone when you wake up each morning!
All ages and conditions are welcome. Lessons will be on the floor and no previous experience with the Feldenkrais Method is necessary.
What is an Awareness Through Movement Class Like?
With a private lesson you can get individual attention to achieve a specific goal, like improve performance, increase athletic capacity, or alleviate pain.
Currently, I’m authorized to teach Awareness Through Movement (ATM) lessons and in training to offer hands-on Functional Integration (FI) lessons. While most private sessions are FI lessons, until I’m authorized to teach FI, one-on-one work will be customized ATM lessons.
Cost: $65–$85 sliding scale
